Development of a Text Message Delivered Intervention to Promote Engagement in Medication Assisted Treatment among the Criminal
Researchers from Rhode Island Hospital are developing a combined counselor- and text message-delivered program for people who were started on medication for opioid use disorder while in jail/prison. We are seeking people who have these experiences to provide feedback on the intervention.
OUD, criminal justice, MOUD, digital health
Inclusion criteria include: age 18+ years of age; history of DSM-5 Opioid Use Disorder; history of engaging in MAT at RIDOC; and released from jail/prison within the past year. Exclusion criteria include: Not fluent in English; limited mental capacity or inability to provide informed consent.
