The COBRE on Opioids and Overdose maintains four Cores that contribute to the development and sustainability of the thematic multidisciplinary structure of the COBRE. The Cores provide assistance to our junior investigators and other community partners directly involved in the opioid and overdose epidemic.

Administrative Core

The Administrative (Admin) Core provides leadership, organizational structure, intellectual infrastructure, a mentoring plan, fiscal management and strategic planning for fiscal support beyond COBRE funding.

Data and Research Methods Core

The Data and Research Methods (DRM) Core provides study design and methodological expertise, delivers data management resources, offers data visualization services, and addresses analytical needs shared by investigators who lack access to these resources within their own research groups.

Translational and Transformative Core

The Translational and Transformation (T2) Core provides technical assistance in the execution of translation and implementation of science research and supports the dissemination of innovative findings to transform care for opioid addiction and overdose.

Community Engaged Research Core

The Community Engaged Research Core (CERC) provides infrastructure to recruit and retain vulnerable and underserved individuals, builds capacity in the ethical conduct of research with vulnerable populations, and serves as a centralized resource for training and outreach regarding the conduct of research among individuals most impacted by overdose and opioid-related harms.
